Junpei Hyuuga X Reader {Clutch Time}

You sat in your chair in class, in between your friends Akari and Riko. As the day had begun and the bell just rang, all of your classmates were seated and waiting for the teacher to arrive. You snuck a quick look behind at Hyuuga Junpei, who was flipping through his exercise book. Watching him for about five seconds, your face became red. Riko noticed this and smirked.
"Ahh, (f/n)-chan~! Admiring Hyuuga-kun again are we?" She giggled as you gave her a serious and unamused look. Leaning across Riko gave you a slight and reassuring tap on the shoulder accompanied by a warm smile.
"Don't worry, (f/n)-chan, I'm just teasing. But I still don't know what you see in him." Akari giggled from behind you. You looked back at Hyuuga once more, only to notice him looking back at you. His eyes quickly darted from side to side then back at you as he pushed his glasses up, then he smiled at you. Your heart skipped at beat and you quickly faced the front again. Akari noticed what had happened and smiled.
"Hyuuga is apart of the basketball club, isn't he?" You and Riko both nodded to her inquiry. "Well, if it's okay with Riko, you should go and watch their next practice? I don't know, it's a weird idea, but maybe you would like it?" Akari closed her eyes and gave you a sincere smile. Riko looked up at the ceiling for a second and thought furiously before snapping her glance back at you and Akari.
"Well, we have practice this afternoon. The boys would be happy to have some girls watch them work out and stuff and I'd be happy to have you, so it's up to you, (f/n)-chan and Akari-chan~!" Both you and Akari nodded. Leaning in closer to your desk, you, Akari and Riko discussed the time and things about the practice.

~Later that afternoon~

You let a small groan escape your lips as Akari dragged you to the basketball court.
"But Akari, I'm tired~…" You sobbed playfully.
"Oh, come on (f/n), Riko and I organized this especially for you to see Hyuuga~! It won't kill you."
"That's debatable.…" Rolling your eyes you smiled and walked next to Akari. You both walked into the indoor basketball court to see the Seirin team running laps and Riko blowing a whistle. You and Akari sat down a few metres away from the sideline on the floor. You watched as everyone gathered around Riko and put on different coloured bibs. Looking out for Hyuuga, you realized they were getting ready to do a practise match. Then you spotted him, the cute looking, glasses wearing second year, pull on a yellow bib next to Kagami Taiga, who was wearing a bib of the same colour. Everyone but Hyuuga realized that you and Akari were there. Then Riko passed the ball to Kiyoshi Teppei and the match started.
~A few minutes later~
You watched on from the side of the basketball court with Akari and observed the practice match closely. As a fan of basketball, it was nice to watch and you enjoyed it. Especially when Hyuuga was playing… The match was pretty laid back and normal, until Hyuuga walked up to Kagami with an angered look plastered across his face. You heard him shout at the tall red haired teen.

"Respect your senpais once in a while! Or else I'll kill you!" Hyuuga was shouting in a really rude tone. You were quite shocked at his voice, as you had never seen him like this. Leaning over to Akari you whispered.
"Hey, what's up with how Hyuuga is acting?" Akari rolled her eyes.
"Sure, I'd expect you to pick up on Hyuuga's actions." You blushed at her words. "Yeah, but I'll explain anyway, I've heard about it before. It's his 'clutch mode'. He becomes heated and rude, often speaking his mind. When he does it, his shot's accuracy increase greatly. I'm not to sure how it works but it does." She shrugged and watched the match some more. Hyuuga was on the other side of the court as his team had just gotten a fast break. Kagami passed to him and he went to shoot, but before he did, he began to yell.
"I failed my maths exam and I'm really pissed at my teacher because of it!" Hyuuga then shot and the ball fell straight through the hoop. You clapped, then watched closer. Akari took note of what he had said.
"He's speaking what's on his mind before shooting. That's kind of cute." She giggled. The other team had just scored and Izuki was dribbling the ball down the court and passed to Kuroko, who used an Ignite pass to Kagami who went to dunk it, but was blocked by Kiyoshi. The force of the block caused the ball to fly back into Hyuuga's hand. Getting into his shooting position, he shouted.
"I hate it when people call my home phone trying to sell me things!" Once again the ball fell straight through the hoop with a swish. You and Akari clapped again. The match resumed, until about five minutes later when Hyuuga got the ball outside the three point like again.

Hyuuga got into his shooting position once more and opened his mouth the yell something. He went to speak but his entire face went red. Hyuuga shot the ball as he shouted loudly:
"I LOVE (f/n) (l/n)!!!!" The ball fell through the hoop with force this time. The whole group had become quiet. Akari's eyes had widened and Riko was gobsmacked. After finally processing what Hyuuga had just said, your face suddenly became as deep red as Kagami's hair. Akari looked at you as you stood and ran out of the building. She had stood to go after you, but Riko had given Akari a 'leave her' look. So she sat back down.

~Later, after practice~

You sat just outside of the school's entrance on the ground hugging your legs close to you. Hyuuga had said that he loved you. It was a weird feeling. After trying to calm down, but ultimately failing, a voice broke your thoughts.
"(l/n)-chan? Is that you?" Hyuuga's voice filled your ears as you looked up at him. He had his jacket on and his back  slung over his shoulder. "What are  you doing all by your self out here? Are you waiting for someone to pick you up or something." Unable to speak, you just shook your head.
"Well.. Uhm… How about I walk you home then? It's on the way to my house, so it wouldn't be out of my way…" He scratched the back of his head and was looking in the other direction awkwardly.
"Okay.…" You replied softly with one word. Picking up your bag, which was sitting next to you, you began to walk home next to Hyuuga. The walk was pretty silent and awkward. Hyuuga was looking the other was and you were staring at the foot path, your face bright red. Stopping, you dropped your bag as your hands were shaking. Hyuuga looked back worriedly.
"Hey, (f/n), is everything okay?" You felt his hand gently touch your shoulder. Putting aside the fact he just called you by your first name you focused on the matter at hand.
"Junpei." He was surprised.
"Uhm, yes?" You brought your head up and faced him, looking him in the eye.
"Is it true what you said? Is it true that you love me?!" You mouth turned into a hard line when you noticed Hyuuga blush. He slowly began to nod.
"Yes... It's true… I love you, (f/n). I'm sorry…" He looked down at the ground. You realized how you had been acting and your eyes soften. You didn’t mean for it to sound the way it did. Reaching up to his face, your grabbed his chin and made him look up at you, looking deeeply into his eyes. The sun reflected off of his glasses and his cheeks were warm and pink.
"Junpei, please don't get the wrong idea. I love…" You blushed again. Leaning forward, your gently and quickly placed your lips on his for a second. "I love you too." Hyuuga smiled and pulled you into a hug.
"I'm so glad." After a minute, you pushed him back and realized what he had said to you before.
"You called me by my first name before, didn’t you?!" Hyuuga raised an eyebrow, then laughed for a while. He stopped and wiped a tear from his eye. You watched him and wondered what was so funny.

"You called me Junpei!"
